In the summer term of 2026, the Department of Legal and Constitutional History is hosting guest professor Christiane Wilke. She is visiting from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, where she works at the Department of Law and Legal Studies. During her stay at the Law Faculty of the University of Vienna, she is teaching the blocked course Armed Conflict, Law & Memory: Interdisciplinary Perspectives and will give a lecture entitled "Unexpected": Knowledge, Ignorance, and Legality in US Military Assessments of Civilian Harm in the department’s legal history research seminar on 1 June 2026.
