From 3-4 December 2026, we will be hosting the symposium “Areas, Norms, Time: Entangled. Blogging Global Legal Histories” in Vienna. Organised by the ANT.E Blog team to mark the first anniversary of the blog’s launch, the symposium will bring together leading scholars for collective reflection and critical exchange.
In panel discussions, we will explore central issues: How do we write global legal histories in the current context? How can we bridge past, present, and future in the process? And how do we use blogs as a medium for global legal histories?
The keynote will be delivered by renowned global legal historian Thomas Duve, Director of the Max Planck Institute for Legal History and Legal Theory. With this symposium, we want to address interested scholars and researchers in global legal history, as well as global history and related disciplines.
