Everybody knows him‽ ‐ Oddities from the life of Franz Anton Felix Zeiller 

The ‘Interrobang’ (‽) at the end of this article’s title is meant to signal the surprise that this statement may trigger in one or the other reader: may it be possible to learn something new about Franz Zeiller? The following contribution brings together scattered ‘oddities’ from his fatethat are well known with news about the genesis of individual achieve‐ ments in the course of his academic career and their after‐effects – based on legal‐historical research which the author undertook during the last three decades. The following contribution owes its creation to the wish to find out more about Zeiller not just as a lawyer, but as a person.
