Introduction

Cansu Cinar has been a university assistant (predoctoral fellow) at the Chair for Globalisation and Legal Pluralism at the Faculty of Law of the University of Vienna since November 2021.

She studied law at Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main with a focus on European and international law. In the fall of 2019, she passed her First State Examination in Law before the State Judicial Examination Office of Hesse. She spent various practical stations in German environmental law, international climate protection and development cooperation.

Her areas of interest include human rights, asylum and migration law, environmental and climate change law, digital transformation, and critical and interdisciplinary legal research. In her dissertation as a Fellow of Ars Iuris Vienna, she focuses on human immobility in the context of the climate crisis and legal mobilization by indigenous peoples, using the Andean countries Bolivia and Ecuador as examples.
